Our electives and ACT/SAT Prep are on Wednesdays from 9am-12pm. There is also a lunch and social hour from 12pm-1pm. We do not serve lunch, but students can bring their own lunch, purchase Subway from us, and purchase items from our store.
Our ACT/SAT Prep class focuses on increasing the composite score to test out of remedial classes and get scholarships. We have helped hundreds of students get full-tuition scholarships. Scholarships start as low as a 17 or 21. We generally see an average increase of 3 points on the composite per class, and students can take the class as many times as necessary. This class is also a great review of algebra, geometry, grammar, and science concepts.
Our elective classes do not have an age requirement. In the Creative Writing class, students will learn how to develop characters, plot, conflict, etc. while creating a story of their own throughout the semester. We will also cover how to publish an ebook. In the Business class, students will create their own business over the course of the semester. Students will be given a generous loan amount that they will then use to create a business plan. They will learn about licenses, marketing, social media, websites, taxes, payroll, profit/loss, accounting, supply and demand, etc. In the Programming class, students will be introduced to programming languages, like Python and C++. They will learn how to write programs and learn about career paths in programming.
We also have open hours from 8am-9am and from 1pm-3pm for our Learn & Play Program and our Tutoring Program. Our Learn & Play Program includes 20 minutes of instruction time in a subject of your choice and 40 minutes of free play. The Tutoring Program is one hour of tutoring in a subject of your choice. Both programs are open to all ages, and these programs do not require any registration. They are drop-in and drop-off programs for $10/hr.
